Is there such a thing as a successful week, in crisis?
I can honestly say, at the end of a VERY long week, I LOVE the InPhase team. I thought I did before, but I hadn't seen anything.
The power of people coming together in the face of adversity is incredible. I'll be honest, we discussed at SMT furloughing staff, taking the 80%...for all of 1 minute. And then we said, "Nah, let's do something really awesome."
So, up steps, a group of people, all of whom, without exception, want to be the very best versions of themselves they can be. Team InPhase.
And I'll be the first to confess, for all the team, myself included, it's not been easy. Juggling working from home with kids, husbands, wives, cats, dogs, the TV, music, Nintendo's, Xbox's, building indoor igloos, shopping with a 1.5-hour queue outside Sainsbury's, dodgy internet connection has been havoc. The proximity of the fridge has been disastrous. I need the gym to reopen quickly!
The reality of the week has meant my normal 8 - 10 hour day has been spread over 14 - 16 hours. For other team gurus who have support at home, they have just been doing the 14 - 16 hours working straight. It's incredible. The sense that we are all in it together and that we can create something that really helps the NHS, the government and commercial businesses that HAVE to stay open for the benefit of all of us really rewarding.
If nothing else, as a team, we'll come out of this even stronger, knowing that each and every one of us is a Rockstar and that we've all used our skills as best as we can, to help as much as we can.
So, is there such a thing as a successful week in a crisis? Heck yes. It's just a different kind of success. Success this week has all been about helping others and establishing our own personal worth during these really tough times.
