In February 2026, Ideagen Healthcare Guardian returned to Riyadh's Hilton hotel for the Patient Safety Leaders’ Summit 2026. Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, this year's summit brought together an even larger community of patient safety leaders, with more than 30 healthcare organizations participating from across Saudi Arabia, the UK, Qatar and Oman.

Our interactive patient safety workshop generated passionate discussions around technology challenges, human factors and future opportunities, with every delegate eager to contribute their expertise. International speakers from the NHS shared valuable perspectives on challenges and solutions that resonated across borders. And perhaps most memorably, our live demonstration of AI technology captured the room's imagination - showing how artificial intelligence can instantly transform workshop notes into actionable insights. Throughout the summit, one theme remained clear: with the right tools and collaborative approach, patient safety goals across the region are not just achievable, they're accelerating.

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Foundation Trust shares their patient safety journey

Karen Moore-Haines and Lucinda Berry traveled from East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to share their organization's challenges, solutions and successes with patient safety improvement. Their presentations provided invaluable international context, demonstrating that while healthcare delivery differs across borders, the fundamental challenges of patient safety remain remarkably consistent.

The pair explored how their Trust navigated common and shared practical solutions that attendees could adapt for their own organizations. Their honest account of both struggles and breakthroughs resonated strongly with delegates facing similar challenges in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

The vital role of clinical audits in patient safety: insights from MyClinic KSA

Dr Eman Kamal from MyClinic KSA delivered a compelling presentation on the importance of clinical audits to patient safety outcomes. Her session generated visible agreement throughout the room, with heads nodding and delegates calling out their support for her key points.

Combining frameworks for better outcomes: King Fahad Specialist Hospital – Dammam

Mohammed Qaddoura, Executive Director of Clinical Excellence, and Safa Jawa, Director of Quality Affairs and Director of Beneficiary Experience at King Fahad Specialist Hospital – Dammam, closed the formal program with an outstanding presentation on patient experience as a driver of patient safety. Their seminar explored how patient experience directly influences safety outcomes, and demonstrated the power of combining multiple frameworks, initiatives and strategies into a single, outcomes-focused process. Rather than treating patient experience and patient safety as separate priorities, they showed how integrating these elements creates a more comprehensive and effective approach to care quality.

AI captures the room: technology transforms workshop insights in real time

One of the day's most memorable moments came when we demonstrated how AI can instantly transform raw workshop data into actionable insights. After an intensive patient safety workshop covering technology challenges, human factors and future opportunities, we collected all the notes and discussion points from the room.

Within minutes, AI generated a comprehensive infographic summarizing the feedback across all three topic areas. The room's reaction was immediate and enthusiastic - phones came out across the tables as delegates photographed the results, impressed by how quickly complex discussions could be distilled into clear, visual insights.

Paul then expanded on this theme, walking delegates through the latest developments in the Ideagen Healthcare Guardian platform and providing a sneak peek at the revolutionary Ideagen Mazlan AI. He demonstrated how this technology will completely change how we manage and improve patient safety, moving from reactive reporting to proactive prediction and prevention.
