This February, Ideagen InPhase was proud to host its Patient Safety Leader Summits in two remarkable cities—Riyadh, the vibrant capital at the heart of Saudi Arabia, and Jeddah, the beautiful coastal city on the Red Sea. These events brought together healthcare leaders, hospitals, clinics and governing bodies to discuss shared challenges and explore innovative solutions for improving patient safety.

Steve Walters delivered an inspiring talk on overcoming the systemic challenges faced during their transformation efforts. He shared how leaders at King's College drove improvements in patient safety culture, emphasizing the importance of strong leadership and innovative tools. The audience was captivated, gaining fresh perspectives they could take back to their own organizations.

Fostering a ‘no blame’ culture to improve patient safety

Laveena Joyce – Nursing Educator, Aster Sanad Hospital

Delegates were deeply inspired by Aster Sanad Hospital’s in-depth presentation on fostering a “no-blame” culture. They highlighted their initiative of using peer-reviewed role-play scenarios to analyze safety processes, identify areas for improvement, and reward staff for their proactive contributions. This tangible and collaborative approach was met with resounding approval.

Patient safety survey outcomes and new national initiatives

The Saudi Patient Safety Center delivered an insightful session on the outcomes of their extensive patient safety surveys. They discussed the impactful changes driven by their support packages and highlighted the importance of implementing structured leadership walk-rounds. Their comprehensive approach to fostering safer healthcare resonated strongly with the audience.

A technological leap forward
