The problem

Your services move fast. Your systems should too.

Independent providers move quickly — new services, new sites, new pathways. Most safety and quality systems can't keep up, so teams end up working the software's way, exporting data to see it, and reconciling separate tools across the group.

Systems you can't change yourself

Every new form or workflow means a vendor ticket, a cost and a wait — while your service has already moved on.

Separate tools, separate truths

Incidents, audits, complaints and risk in different systems, with no single view across your sites.

Data locked away

Reports behind exports or a business intelligence licence, so leaders can't see performance when they need it.

Assurance that takes days

Board packs, insurer evidence and inspection prep pulled together by hand, never quite current.

The solution

One platform. Shaped around you.

Ideagen Healthcare Guardian brings incidents, audits, risk, feedback, complaints and compliance onto one data layer — and your own trained team configures it, no coding and no vendor ticket. Because every app shares that data, the platform triangulates it automatically — so a patient complaint is seen alongside the related incident, the site's latest audit and any open risk, letting themes surface across your group before they become a pattern. One connected view across every site, every service, in real time.
“

You only know what you know. Other established systems are very prescriptive. This system is completely different — it's customisable.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is Ideagen Healthcare Guardian?

Ideagen Healthcare Guardian is a patient safety and governance platform used by NHS trusts to manage incidents, Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) investigations, risk, audit, complaints and Care Quality Commission (CQC) readiness in one connected system, with certified submission to Learn from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE).

Is Ideagen Healthcare Guardian LFPSE compliant?

Yes. Ideagen Healthcare Guardian is certified for the NHS England Learn from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) service at both V5.0 and V6.0, with direct automated submission built into the incident workflow. This removes the manual export and upload that takes governance teams hours every week.

Does it support PSIRF?

Yes. The platform supports the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) end to end — from incident recording with conditional forms, through investigation workflows and learning responses, to triangulated oversight across incidents, complaints, risk and quality improvement.

Can we move from Datix to Ideagen Healthcare Guardian?

Yes. Many NHS trusts have moved to Ideagen Healthcare Guardian from Datix, and your historical records come with you — data migration is part of implementation, so you keep your reporting history. Trusts including Greater Manchester Mental Health, Chesterfield Royal and Bedfordshire Hospitals have made that transition.

What is data triangulation, and why does it matter?

Triangulation is the ability to see connected safety data in one place. Because every app shares one data layer, the platform links an incident to the related audit, risk, complaint and previous events automatically — moving teams from reacting to individual events to spotting the conditions that lead to harm before harm occurs.

How does it help with CQC inspection readiness?

Ideagen Healthcare Guardian gives continuous readiness rather than a last-minute scramble. Teams self-assess against the Care Quality Commission (CQC) quality statements, evidence links to live data so it stays current, and dashboards show readiness by ward, service and site under the Single Assessment Framework.

Does it work for mental health, community and ambulance trusts, not just acute?

Yes. The platform is configured to how each type of trust works — acute, mental health, community, ambulance and specialist. Greater Manchester Mental Health uses it for patient-level triangulation, and community providers including Sussex Community use it for mobile recording across dispersed teams.

Can ICBs and provider collaboratives get system-wide oversight?

Yes. Integrated care boards (ICBs) and provider collaboratives use the platform for oversight across multiple organisations, with reporting at system level as well as by individual provider. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB produces oversight reports for board in seconds rather than days.

Does it meet NHS data security standards?

Ideagen Healthcare Guardian is hosted in the UK and holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. It supports NHS data security requirements including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), with a Data Processing Agreement available for NHS clients.

How does it integrate with our existing systems?

The platform integrates natively with your Microsoft environment — Teams, Power BI, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and single sign-on via Active Directory — and connects to systems such as HR and patient administration so data is entered once and stays accurate.

How quickly can we go live?

Implementation typically runs 6 to 12 weeks for a single app, with your team trained before go-live and your historical data migrated across. Bedfordshire Hospitals migrated under a five-week deadline and launched six modules simultaneously, supported by a named Customer Success Manager throughout.
